Creation Stories

Creation Stories

Creation Stories is a newly released biographical film about Alan McGee and Creation Records, directed by Nick Moran. The film was adapted by Irvine Welsh and Dean Cavanagh from McGee’s 2013 autobiography of the same name.

It tells the story of how one written-off young Glaswegian upstart rose to irrevocably change the face of British pop culture. Cherry Red have worked with Alan many times over the decades, from an early publishing deal in the 80s for his first band Laughing Apple (also featured on the film) to 359 Music, a new music label through Cherry Red launched in 2013.

Cherry Red now control the recordings of many of Creation’s earlier signings from the 1980s. Alongside the aforementioned tracks, the film also features The Weather Prophets’ ‘Hollow Heart’ and Ed Ball’s ‘The Mill Hill Self Hate Club’.

The film is available to watch on Sky Cinema and NOW TV.
