Classic Nouveaux!

The Artwoods were a popular British R&B band formed in 1964 by vocalist Art Wood, future Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord and drummer Keef Hartley. One of their most notable tracks, which was issued as a single in 1966, was a vibrant if respectful cover of Benny Spellman’s New Orleans soul/blues gem ‘I Feel Good’, written by Allen Toussaint. The song has been used in the marketing and promotion campaign for Nouveaux Riches: a French action comedy film released by Netflix. Drop us a line if you’d like to hear more.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
