Cherry Red proudly represent Les Reed’s ‘Chapter One’ catalogue

Les Reed (pictured, with John Barry) is one of Britain’s most successful songwriters, behind hits for a multitude of artists such as Tom Jones and Herman’s Hermits in the 60s and 70s.

Cherry Red are now the proud representatives of Les‘s Chapter One catalogue.

Founded in 1968, Chapter One and sister label Greenwich released a wealth of pop, psychedelia and prog rock by cult/collectable acts such as Episode Six, Samurai, Day Of Phoenix and Graham Bond, as well as Les’s own albums and soundtracks such as Girl On A Motorcycle. Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
