Cherry Red On Safari
Formed early in 1977 by ex-Deep Purple-related industry veterans Tony Edwards, Andreas Budde and John Craig, Safari Records enjoyed huge success with Toyah and other artists during its near-ten year existence between 1977 and 1985.
Other artists included pioneering New York punk band Wayne County & The Electric Chairs, Mod Revival acts The Teenbeats, The Same and Purple Hearts, UK punks The Boys and Genocide, ex-Deep Purple vocalist Glenn Hughes, female duo The Chanters Sisters, and reggae artists Weapon Of Peace, The Cimarons and George Dekker.
