Cherry Red Got The Blues!

We’re now a European representative for Peter Shertser’s Red Lightnin’ catalogue, which boasts all manner of Blues recordings both by British bands and authentic US bluesmen like Buddy Guy, Little Walter, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins and Earl Hooker.

This adds to our many albums from the Big Bear label, which also includes such notable names as Doctor Ross, Cousin Joe, Mickey Baker and Eddie Playboy Taylor.

We also own many early 70s albums from the Ember catalogue on their Blues Spectrum imprint by the likes of Johnny Otis, Charles Brown, Joe Liggins and Joe Turner.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
