Cherry Red acquire Northside back catalogue

Hailing from Manchester, Northside were part the so-called ‘Baggy’ explosion of dance-tinged Indie bands around 1989/1990, spearheaded by the Stone Roses, the Happy Mondays and the Inspiral Carpets. Northside signed to the city’s most famous label, Factory, and enjoyed UK hits with ‘Shall We Take A Trip‘, ‘My Rising Star‘ and ‘Take 5‘. Cherry Red is now proud to announce they are the exclusive licensors for Northside’s back catalogue, which coincides with a recent reunion tour.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
