Cherry Red acquire Nirvana catalogue

We’re pleased to announce the acquisition of several albums by Nirvana!

No, not that lot from Seattle but the original Nirvana, founded in 1967 at the height of psychedelia by Patrick Campbell-Lyons and Alex Spyropoulos.

These include Local Anaesthetic (originally issued on Vertigo in 1971) and Songs Of Love And Praise (Philips, 1972), the latter including a revamp of their classic song ‘Rainbow Chaser’.

Also available is the debut solo album by Patrick, Me And My Friend from 1973, together with many later recordings.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
