Cherry Red acquire classic early Curved Air catalogue

Back in the early Seventies, Curved Air were one of the most popular, hard-working bands on the Prog Rock circuit.

Fronted by striking singer Sonja Kristina and including a rock violinist Darryl Way, they issued a succession of best-selling albums between 1970 and 1973: Air Conditioning, Second Album, Phantasmagoria and Air Cut. The rights to Curved Air‘s classic early catalogue now reside with Cherry Red.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
