Carrying The Tortch For Post-Punk

Carrying The Tortch For Post-Punk

Cherry Red now represent some cult singles on Tortch Records. Run by future manager and music industry figure Steve Budd, Tortch (sorry!) shone brightly at the end of the 70s and early 80s. Included is the distinctive, genre-bending work of Cardiac Arrest with the EP A Bus For A Bus On The Bus, mod revival band The Directions’ power pop EP Three Bands Tonite, and the Scissor Fits’ Soon After Dark EP, known for its punchy, post-punk edge. Cherry Red control the rights to the output of many post-punk indie labels, including  Small Wonder, Do It, Safari, Heartbeat, Bent, Avatar, Red Lightning, Graduate, Future Earth, City, Dining Out, Rip Off, Attrix, The Label, Zoom, Pogo, Rockburgh, Big Bear and last but definitely not least, Cherry Red.
