THE CURE FOR CHAOS?
Pioneering but largely unsung, early 80s band Chaos UK played fast, aggressive hardcore that helped reshape punk, both here and abroad. Their 1986 track ‘No Security’ featured in a powerful 2023 documentary The Cure for Hate: Bearing Witness To Auschwitz. The film follows former Holocaust denier Tony McAleer to the former concentration camp on a personal journey of atonement, where he confronts the consequences of hate and extremism. Cherry Red represents one of the largest punk catalogues in the world, spanning a huge range of punk pioneers like Dead Kennedys, Conflict, Cock Sparrer, U.K. Subs, Angelic Upstarts, Chelsea, The Exploited, The Business and Vice Squad.
