BEVERLEY MOVES ON UP!

Hailing from Wolverhampton, Beverley Knight swiftly became recognised as one of the UK’s greatest soul singers with a string of hits, which eventually led to her her being awarded an MBE. Via our acquisition of the mighty Dome Records, we’re proud to represent rights to Beverley’s breakthrough debut LP The B-Funk (1995), which celebrated and updated her love of classic American R&B (Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin et al). Expect a deluxe edition of the album very soon. In the meantime, today’s choice track is one of several singles from The B-Funk, ‘Moving On Up (On The Right Side)’.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
