BEAT ON THE MARK?

Discovered by Ken Pitt (before he managed David Bowie), British beat combo The Mark Leeman Five only made four singles across the mid-60s before their singer/frontman was tragically killed in a car accident. A posthumous compilation added a privately released album (ripe for vinyl reissue!) with unissued vault finds. We now represent all of the band’s output, including their covers of John Stewart’s folk standard ‘Portland Town’, Oscar Brown Jr.’s ‘Forbidden Fruit’ and The Drifters’ ‘Follow Me’. Drop us a line if you’d like to hear more.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
