AVANT-GARDE EXPERIMENTS
Cherry Red now represents the catalogue of composer, producer and sonic innovator David Cunningham, which spans more than four decades of experimental music, collaborations, music for film and many influential recordings. The deal brings together his pioneering solo works – from the minimalist 1976 debut Grey Scale through later ambient and electro-acoustic releases such as Water, Voiceworks, Ext. Night and Novembre – alongside recordings by his acclaimed project The Flying Lizards, whose international hit ‘Money‘ helped define the art-pop landscape of the late 1970s. The acquisition also includes a wide range of collaborative projects with artists across avant-garde, contemporary classical and experimental music, reflecting his long career at the intersection of composition, studio innovation and sound art. The catalogue represents a significant body of work from one of the most distinctive and quietly influential figures in modern experimental music. Drop us a line to hear more.
