Assembling Avengers

Avenger were a New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) band from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, formed in 1982. We are now the exclusive representatives for their 1984 Roadrunner album Blood Sports and 1985 LP Killer Elite, alongside bonus tracks and unreleased songs. Cherry Red are purveyors of many authentic tracks from the NWOBHM scene, including the likes of Cardiff metal band Persian Risk, Nottingham’s finest HM act Savage, Salisbury rockers Tokyo Blade, Derbyshire combo Witchfynde, Chevy, Dark Star, Leicester group Chrome Molly, Maineeaxe, all-female combo Girlschool and the mighty Tygers Of Pan Tang. FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
