ARRIVAL SAMPLED BACKWARDS?

Arrival were a London-based close-harmony band, featuring singers originally from Liverpool. They enjoyed two chart hits, ‘I Will Survive’ and ‘Friends’, the former reaching No. 16 in June 1970. A more obscure track is 1970’S ‘La Virra’, a jazzy keyboard-based instrumental which was sampled on ‘Locked Up’ by super producer Danger Mouse and US rapper Jemini from their 2023 album Born Again. We represent the rights to all of Arrival’s recordings from 1969 and 1970, which were originally released on Decca.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
