Girls At Our Best were a post-punk outfit from Leeds, who we recently treated to a 3-CD deluxe edition of their cult classic Pleasure! We represent all of their recordings, including the fizzy mix of pop melody and punk energy of their 1980 single ‘Getting Nowhere Fast’. This classic has been used in American mini-series Angelyne, starring the brilliant US Shameless’ star Emmy Rossum and aired recently on on Peacock.

The programme dramatises the enigmatic blonde bombshell singer, actress and media personality Angelyne, who rose to fame in the 1980s with billboard advertisements featuring her image, and the subsequent attempts to uncover her true identity and life story.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
