American Kids

Back in 1981, ‘Kids In America‘ launched budding singer Kim Wilde onto the world stage. A hit around the globe, the song boasted an irresistible mix of Blondie-styled new wave energy and catchy lyrics, which has endured to this day – which helps explain the ongoing demand for the track in TV and film. One recent example is Kevin Smith’s new film The 4:30 Movie (out today!), a comedy about a group of teens in the 1980s who spend the day theatre-hopping. ‘Kids In America’ is used in the trailer, which you can watch below.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
