ADICT-ED TO PUNK?

Originally emerging from Norwich around 1979, The Adicts remain one of the UK’s most popular punk acts of the 1980s and still headline festivals, fuelled by strong imagery originally inspired by the film Clockwork Orange. Their 1985 track ‘Crazy’ has featured recently in an episode of Video Nasty, an Irish comedy horror series set in the 1980s, broadcast on BBC Three. Cherry Red are the custodians of several Adicts studio albums, including Smart Alex (1985), Sound Of Music (1982), 27 (1992) and live albums Joker In The Pack (2004) and Live And Loud! (1987).

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
