A HEEP OF KEN HENSLEY?

When Ken Hensley passed away on 4 November 2020, the acclaimed songwriter left behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come. Today we’re celebrating one of his most memorable tracks, ‘Lady In Black’. Originally penned for Uriah Heep in 1971, the track was a firm live favourite and is still popular on streaming services. Cherry Red represent many of Ken’s albums from down the years, from the likes of Free Spirit (1981) and From Time To Time (1994) to many of his live and studio LPs from the 1990s and 2000s, up to his musical epitaph, My Book Of Answers, from 2021.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
