Cherry Red has deep roots in reggae, dub, and ska, from Adrian Sherwood‘s experimental reggae on his On-U Sound label in the early ’80s to catalogues by the likes of the ‘Godfather Of Ska’Laurel Aitken and chief UK dub bass aficionado Jah Wobble. We represent rights to pivotal ska revival records by the likes of The Selecter and Bad Manners, and more modern acts such as Sonic Boom Six and King Prawn. We also have rights to material from reggae artists such as Linval Thompson, Barry Brown and Ranking Dread, among others.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
