1995: J.P. Sunshine

We recently acquired a batch of obscure psychedelic albums involving DIY maestro Rod Goodway.

Down the years, Rod made numerous albums, which only received limited release on cassette or privately-pressed vinyl.

We’re now home to such hidden gems by J.P.Sunshine (issued 25 years ago but actually dating from the late 60s), Magic Muscle (part of the early 70s scene which also yielded Hawkwind), The Tryp (mid-80s psych.pop combo) and
Ethereal Counterbalance (space rock, 90s style).

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
