1979: Red Noise Revolt!
After the demise of 70s art rock legends Be Bop Deluxe, their front man quickly re-emerged with a new incarnation, Bill Nelson’s Red Noise, in 1979.
This highly promising band were only ever granted one album, Sound On Sound, for Harvest Records before Nelson called it a day and concentrated on solo projects instead.
The band remain synonymous with their classic post-punk/new wave single ‘Revolt Into Style’, its title inspired by George Melly’s influential book of the same name.
